The new owners of the Smith Family home requested an addition to their house on the shores of Long Island Sound. The original house, designed in 1965 by Richard Meier, has been published and is internationally known. The owners needs have since changed and thereby warrant this architectural intervention. they would like the integrity of the original design to be respected however the addition should have its own presence.

Marlon and Cheryl are a middle aged couple who are currently the owners of the Smith House. They also have a new addition to the family. Both enjoy spending time with their family and friends. They have always loved the idea of entertaining guests while watching a movie and or barbecues. In addition, they live a healthy lifestyle and as such have made exercise and music key parts of their daily lives.
